Woman Held Captive by Taufik Hidayat to Receive Plastic and Eye Surgery

A woman with the initials YTR (29) from Rancaekek District, Bandung Regency, West Java, who was held captive and brutally abused by her boyfriend, Taufik Hidayat, is still undergoing treatment at Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung. A medical team has been assembled for the victim’s treatment.

The Head of the West Java Provincial Health Office, Raden Vini Adiani Dewi, stated that her office has formed a special medical team to address the injuries suffered by YTR as a result of Taufik Hidayat’s barbaric actions over the three years they were together.

“Following the Governor’s directive, a medical team has been formed comprising surgical specialists, plastic surgeons, and eye specialists. Essentially, one team will handle the victim,” said Raden Vini when met in Cisarua, as reported by detikJabar on Tuesday (23/6/2026).

The process of treating the victim’s condition cannot be done all at once; there will be several stages of surgery. After each surgical stage, the medical team will check the progress of the victim’s condition.

“The surgery will be done in stages, so after one operation, she will rest and be monitored first because there are several conditions that need to be repaired. So the treatment will take quite a long time,” Vini said.

YTR is known to have been held captive and then tortured relentlessly for three years with Taufik Hidayat in a rented house in Gang Mesjid, Cinunuk Village, Cileunyi District, Bandung Regency.

It was previously reported that the Head of the West Java Office of Women’s Empowerment, Child Protection, and Family Planning (DP3AKB), Siska Gerfianti, said the victim is now able to communicate well.

“She is, but not much. For now, we hope she gets plenty of rest first to recover her physical and psychological condition,” Siska said on Monday (22/6/2026).
