Woman Goes Viral for Allegedly Using Fake Pregnancy Pin to Claim Priority Seat on KRL
A woman has gone viral on social media for allegedly using a fake pregnancy pin to demand that another woman vacate a priority seat on the KRL Commuter Line. It is suspected that the pin used by the woman is not an official issue from KAI Commuter, as it lacks an expiry date.
In a post circulating on Threads, the uploader stated that a woman wearing a yellow headscarf requested a seated passenger to stand up, claiming she was pregnant. The incident took place in carriage 4. According to the uploader, the woman wearing the suspected fake pin approached a female passenger in white who was sitting in the priority seat. The woman was also reportedly reprimanded by a male passenger, to which she allegedly responded with anger, though the man did not engage further.
KAI Commuter has responded to the viral post, stating that official pregnancy pins issued by the company include an active expiry date. “We wish to inform you that the official Special Pregnancy Pin issued by KAI Commuter is currently equipped with the KAI Commuter logo at the top and an expiry date displayed in the centre of the pin,” KAI Commuter wrote in response on Friday (31/07/2026).
KAI Commuter has urged passengers to report any instances where they encounter pregnancy pins that do not feature an expiry date. “We advise that if you encounter users wearing pins without an expiry date, such as in the photo, please report it immediately to officers on the train or station staff so that a check can be conducted. Thank you,” the company explained.
