Woman from Bangkalan Found Dead in Official Vehicle at Juanda Airport
A woman from Bangkalan was found dead inside an official vehicle with government plates parked in the Terminal 1 area of Juanda International Airport, Sidoarjo, on Wednesday (24/6) at around 11.30 WIB. The victim was discovered lifeless in the left front passenger seat. The vehicle was a black Toyota Kijang Innova with the registration number M 1090 GP. General Manager of Juanda International Airport Muhammad Tohir confirmed the discovery of the woman’s body in the airport’s vehicle parking area. Based on airport parking data, the official vehicle was known to have entered the Terminal 1 parking area on Saturday (20/6). The car had not been recorded as leaving until the victim was found four days later. To remove the body from the vehicle, officers involved the Surabaya Basarnas Evacuation Team. The evacuation process was quite difficult because the victim was positioned inside the car cabin with limited space. Commander of the Surabaya Basarnas Evacuation Team Gani said the team faced access constraints when moving the body from the front passenger seat. “The difficulty level of the evacuation was because the space was quite narrow inside a car cabin. So the access was what made it quite difficult for us,” said Gani. Despite facing space limitations, the rescue team managed to complete the evacuation process in about half an hour. After being successfully evacuated from the vehicle cabin, the body was immediately taken by ambulance to the Pusdik Bhayangkara Porong Hospital for further examination. As of now, the victim’s full identity and the exact cause of death are not yet officially known. The Juanda Airport Satgaspam Team together with local police are still conducting an investigation. The investigation is being carried out by gathering witness statements and examining the condition of the official vehicle to determine the sequence of events before the victim was found dead.
