The Director of Traffic at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Commissioner Polisi Komarudin, said that there was another person in the car during the incident, a female passenger who was also questioned.
“We interrogated her last night,” he said on Thursday, February 26, 2026.
However, the identity of the female passenger is still unknown. Komarudin said that she did not have any identification at the time of the incident.
“She did not have any identification at all. No ID card or anything,” he said.
As a result, the police were unable to confirm the identity of the female passenger and have handed the case over to the criminal investigation unit for further investigation. However, it is suspected that the woman is Hafiz’s girlfriend.

The situation escalated when the vehicle also hit several motorcycles and cars at the scene. Residents and other drivers, who were angry, immediately tried to stop the car. The car, which eventually stopped, was then attacked.
The rear window and front body were damaged due to the angry mob throwing things. The Chief of Police for Central Jakarta, Commissioner Polisi Reynold E.P. Hutagalung, confirmed that they had secured the driver, Hafiz Mahendra (25), a resident of Sidoarjo, East Java.
“Before the traffic accident occurred, the minibus with license plate number D-1640-AHB, driven by Mr. Hafiz Mahendra, was traveling from north to south,” he said on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
