Bandarlampung police are continuing to investigate the cause of death of Lilis Pitriani, 29, whose body was found in a drainage ditch with her hands bound on Jalan Cipto MK, Gang 57 PU, in Kupang Teba subdistrict.

“We are still investigating the case to establish whether a criminal offence was involved,” Bandarlampung Police Criminal Investigation Unit chief Commissioner Regan Kusuma Wardani said in the city on Thursday (29 October 2026).

She said the woman’s body was first found by her family in a ditch. Her hands were bound with rope, and there were several injuries on her body.

“After receiving the report, our team went straight to the scene to conduct an initial examination and look for clues,” she said.

Commissioner Regan stressed that police could not yet draw conclusions about the motive or cause of death. They are coordinating with the family to obtain consent for a medical autopsy.

“The body was taken last night to Bhayangkara Hospital at the Lampung Regional Police headquarters. An autopsy is planned once the family has given its consent,” she added.

As a next step, investigators from the Bandarlampung Police Criminal Investigation Unit are continuing to collect evidence at the scene and interview key witnesses, including local residents and the victim’s family.

“We are continuing the investigation by seeking clues at the scene and taking statements from witnesses, both members of the public and the victim’s family,” she said.
