A man named Ahmad Ronny Hasiholan (44) has been arrested following the murder of his unregistered wife, DH (55), in the city of Depok, West Java. Ronny took the victim’s mobile phone and motorcycle before leaving the scene.

“The suspect immediately took the victim’s mobile phone and left the location with the victim’s motorcycle,” said AKBP Resa Fiardi, Deputy Head of the Mobile Robbery Investigation Unit at the Metro Jaya Police Regional Command, on Tuesday (10 March 2026).

Ronny was arrested on Sunday (8 March). The arrest followed a series of investigations by detectives who successfully identified the perpetrator.

“The suspect has subsequently been brought to the Mobile Robbery Investigation Unit at the Metro Jaya Police Regional Command for further investigation,” he added.

Chronology of Events

Police previously revealed the sequence of events in which the woman with the initials DH (56) was killed by her unregistered husband, with her remains discovered in skeletal form in Meruyung, Limo, Cinere, Depok, West Java. The couple’s unregistered marriage took place in December 2024.

“Subsequently, in mid-October 2025, the victim and the suspect had a quarrel, with the victim screaming and ordering the suspect to leave,” said AKBP Resa.

At that moment, the suspect immediately covered the victim’s mouth with his right hand. The victim managed to resist by scratching the suspect.

“After that, the suspect immediately strangled the victim using his left hand until the victim became weak and helpless,” he stated.

The suspect then took a piece of rope and bound it around the victim’s neck. The suspect then waited and observed the victim’s condition for approximately one hour.

“After the victim was no longer alive, the suspect immediately pulled the victim into her bedroom and the suspect immediately covered the victim with a carpet,” he said.
