Woman Found Dead in Box in Medan Hotel, Body Transported by Motorcycle
A 19-year-old woman identified as RS was found dead in a box in Medan, North Sumatra, with police suspecting she was murdered at a hotel. The alleged perpetrators, SA (19) and SHR (19), subsequently transported the victim’s body by motorcycle before discarding it at the riverside.
According to detikSumut, Medan Metropolitan Police Chief Senior Commissioner Jean Calvijn Simanjuntak stated that the murder occurred at a lodging facility in Medan Denai District on 9 March 2026. The victim died from assault and was also robbed.
“The incident occurred on 9 March, involving murder, assault, and armed robbery,” said Calvijn during crime scene reconstruction at the hotel on Friday (13 March 2026).
After killing the victim, suspect SA exited the room and planned to cover up the crime. The suspect obtained a gunnysack and placed the victim inside it the following day.
Subsequently, suspect SA contacted his friend SHR to assist in retrieving the box to SA’s residence. The victim was then placed into the box.
“The second suspect (SHR) entered with his motorcycle, consistent with the CCTV footage we obtained, and rode it; the one riding was suspect two, being transported was suspect one carrying the box,” he explained.
The suspects then transported the box containing the victim’s body and dumped it by the riverside. Both perpetrators discarded the box at the riverbank.
