Police have arrested the suspect in the murder of a woman identified as DH (56) whose remains were found in a skeletal state in Meruyung, Limo, Depok City, West Java. The case is now being handled by the Metro Jaya Police Regional Command (Polda Metro Jaya).

“We have apprehended the suspected perpetrator, though the case has been transferred to PMJ,” said Cinere Sector Police Commander Senior Police Commissioner Chairul Saleh to journalists on Monday (9 March 2026).

Police stated that the suspect is believed to be the victim’s illegal husband. The suspect is currently undergoing intensive interrogation.

“Our suspicion is that he is her illegal husband,” he explained.

Frequent Quarrels with Illegal Husband

Police indicated there are signs of violence on the victim’s body. However, police could not provide further details regarding the suspected violence. The victim’s remains have been transported to Polri Hospital Kramat Jati in East Jakarta for autopsy.

“There are indications of violence found on her body,” he said.

According to witness statements, the victim frequently quarrelled with her illegal husband. Police also discovered signs of violence on the victim’s remains.

“According to the statement of the neighbourhood leader with initials SS, there was a history of domestic quarrels between the victim and her illegal husband,” he stated.

Coffee Powder Found on Victim’s Body

Police revealed the results of initial identification of the discovered remains. Coffee powder residue was found on the victim’s body.

“During the identification examination, coffee powder residue was found on the victim’s body,” he said.

Police explained that the remains of DH (56) were discovered by the victim’s child and their partner on Saturday (7 March) at approximately 09:00 WIB. The child had come to clean the victim’s house.
