Woman falls 22 stories to death

JAKARTA: A 33-year-old woman was found dead on Sunday after jumping from the 22nd storey of the Robinson Apartment in, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, police said.

The woman's body was found in the front yard of the apartment on Sunday at about 11:30 a.m. with severe head injuries and multiple bone fractures.

"After a preliminary investigation, we have concluded the victim jumped from her apartment after she locked herself inside," Penjaringan Police subprecinct deputy chief Adj. Comr. Suwanto told The Jakarta Post.

None of the victim's family members were at home at the time of the incident, he said.

Neighbors in the apartment told Elshinta Radio that days before the incident the victim had admitted to financial problems and had attempted to sell some of her belongings to them. -- JP
