Woman charged over son's murder

SINGAPORE: A 39-year-old woman in Singapore has been charged with
helping her lover murder her own son, news reports said on
Sunday.

No plea was taken from Sung Peck Imm in court on Saturday. Her
lover, Chong Keng Chye, 36, was charged with murder, The Straits
Times said.

The pair had been on the run and were arrested at a friend's
flat on Thursday. Both were due to appear in court again Friday.
Police said the crime took place at her former home on June 3,
1999. Andy Ang Wei Jie collapsed and died that day. He had
multiple injuries on his left leg and leg cheek.

If convicted, Sung and Chong face the death penalty. --DPA
