Woman Builds Home-Based Business into Trusted Transaction Hub for Locals via BRILink Agent
Lampung, VIVA — The spirit of female independence is once again reflected in the inspiring journey of housewife Evanti Herawati. Starting from a home-based business, she has successfully expanded her venture to offer mini ATM services through BRILink Agent.
Evanti’s story is a testament to how BRI Group’s Ultra Micro Holding supports entrepreneurs to grow while expanding financial access for local communities.
Evanti recounted that before her business grew to its current state, she faced tough times when her family’s income dropped due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This situation pushed her to stay productive to support her household’s economic needs. From this predicament, Evanti began seeking home-based business opportunities.
Leveraging cooking skills passed down from her mother, she started selling simple home-cooked meals and children’s snacks. As her business gained recognition and regular customers, Evanti realised she needed additional capital to sustain growth.
During this process, Evanti discovered PNM Mekaar (Membina Ekonomi Keluarga Sejahtera), a programme by Permodalan Nasional Madani aimed at underprivileged ultra-micro entrepreneurs, particularly women.
Thanks to her determination and consistency, Evanti received an initial loan to gradually expand her business.
“Alhamdulillah, BRI Group through PNM has entrusted me with a loan. It has greatly helped me start and grow my business. I now feel more confident running it, and the results are helping with household needs, my children’s education, and loan repayments,” Evanti said.
Beyond financing access, Evanti also shared that her business receives ongoing support from PNM’s empowerment programmes, including Business Capacity Development (PKU) training and customer mentoring.
Through this guidance, Evanti learned better business management and spotted opportunities for further growth.
As her business expanded, Evanti became eligible for BRI’s Mobile Point of Sales (MPOS) machine. She utilised this facility to offer BRILink Agent services to her local community.
