“We have arrested the baby’s mother, identified as DR, who abandoned her own child, just several hours after the incident occurred,” said the Head of the Women and Children Protection and Human Trafficking Investigation Unit (PPA/PPO) at the North Jakarta Metropolitan Police Station, Police Commissioner Ni Luh Sri Arsini, in Jakarta on Monday.
She stated that the suspect was being held at the Pademangan Police Station’s Investigation Unit on Monday afternoon, whilst the baby abandonment was discovered by residents on Monday morning.

“The suspect, DR (20), works as an employee during the day,” she said.
“Tonight, we will take the suspect to the hospital first to assess her health condition, as she has just given birth and is still weak,” she added.
She explained that the suspect lives in Pademangan and has not yet been able to provide a full statement regarding her actions of abandoning her biological child.
