Woman Allegedly Victim of Sexual Harassment on KRL Train; KCI Investigating CCTV Footage
A woman was allegedly subjected to sexual harassment on a KRL Commuter Line train on the Bogor–Manggarai route on the morning of Monday, 9 March 2026.
The incident was recorded by the victim and uploaded to an Instagram account @inanisaaaa_, showing the face of the alleged perpetrator committing the harassment.
The video that circulated showed a crowded train, with the victim and alleged perpetrator standing near the door.
“Can’t you keep your hands to yourself?” the victim said in the video.
“Sir, please help me, sir. His hands keep touching me,” she continued.
Shortly afterwards, the victim wept while continuing to direct her mobile phone camera at the face of the alleged perpetrator, who denied wrongdoing.
“Where is the person, ma’am?” another passenger asked.
“I didn’t do anything,” replied the man in a jacket who was identified as the alleged perpetrator.
KAI Commuter Public Relations Manager Leza Arlan assured the public that the company would not tolerate any acts of sexual violence occurring either at stations or on trains.
“Going forward, this will be entered into the CCTV analytics database, which can detect the facial features of the alleged perpetrator who committed this criminal act,” Leza stated in a statement on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.
Additionally, the victim will receive psychological support. Moving forward, Leza urged all Commuter Line users to be more vigilant and not hesitate to report incidents to staff or the call centre on 021 121.
“KAI Commuter will provide full assistance and support the victim in every instance of criminal activity within the Commuter Line environment, particularly sexual violence,” he concluded.
