BOGOR, KOMPAS.com — A female passenger on the Commuter Line train between Jakarta Kota and Bogor allegedly became a victim of sexual harassment whilst aboard the service.

In a video circulating on social media, the woman told officials that she had just experienced harassment whilst on the KRL train.

The woman recounted that she initially boarded the Commuter Line from Manggarai Station with Bogor as her destination.

In the video, the victim explained that the alleged perpetrator had admitted to committing an indecent act towards her.

“He told me, ‘Miss, I rubbed against you. Are you angry with me?’ He said it like that to me,” the woman said in the circulating video.

However, rather than apologising, the alleged perpetrator merely asked the victim whether she was angry or not.

The victim stated that the admission was made by the alleged perpetrator whilst the train was at Citayam Station, whilst passengers in the vicinity witnessed the incident without responding.

Following the incident, the victim reported it to officials at the next station, Cilebut Station, in Sukaraja District, Bogor Regency.

“The incident occurred on 22 January and we immediately followed up on the report,” an official said, as reported by Tribunnewsbogor.com on Friday, 27 February 2026.

In response to the incident, the authority appealed to all public transport users not to hesitate in reporting any form of harassment through field officers or through KAI Commuter’s official services.

“KAI Commuter is of course always prepared to provide full support to protect and assist victims in continuing their legal proceedings with the relevant authorities,” the official stated.
