WO Marwah Owner Arrested Following Engaged Couples Scam and Fugitive Flight

After enduring uncertainty, dozens of engaged couples victimised by Wedding Organizer (WO) Marwah have finally received the news they were waiting for. The owners of WO Marwah, a married couple identified as ER and RMS, were arrested by the East Jakarta Metropolitan Police Criminal Investigation Unit after moving between locations. The arrest marks a new chapter in a case involving dozens of engaged couples and resulting in billions of rupiah in losses. Police are not only investigating the scam’s modus operandi but also tracing the flow of victims’ funds, which are suspected to have been used to cover operational business expenses. They were apprehended on Saturday, 30 May 2026, at a rental house in Batulayang Village, Cililin District, West Bandung Regency, West Java. East Jakarta Metropolitan Police Public Relations Officer Aipda I Gusti MP stated that the suspects offered no resistance during the arrest. ‘During the arrest, the suspects did not resist, ensuring the security process proceeded safely and smoothly,’ Gusti said. Police are still investigating whether ER and RMS’s relocation was part of an escape attempt. Investigators have found that the suspects were no longer at their usual address and moved locations multiple times before being apprehended. ‘Whether the suspects intended to flee is still under investigation. However, during the search, the suspects were found not at their usual address and had moved multiple times before being secured in West Bandung Regency,’ Gusti added. One victim, Aldy (32), reported that the couple began disappearing from 22 May 2026. ‘For yesterday’s meeting, the news was they were arrested in Bandung. Basically, they went missing from 22 May, a Friday,’ Aldy told Kompas.com. According to victims present at the meeting with WO Marwah at East Jakarta Metropolitan Police headquarters, ER and RMS admitted the funds were used to cover operational costs amid financial difficulties.
