Witness Reveals BPKP Audit Found No Issues with Chromebook Prices, Distribution Becomes a Note
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The trial on allegations of corruption in the procurement of Chromebooks at the Central Jakarta District Court on Tuesday (14/4/2026) revealed the results of an audit by the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) regarding the project.
Former Director General of Early Childhood, Primary, and Secondary Education at the Ministry of Education, Iwan Syahril, stated that the BPKP audit covered the procurement of Chromebooks over the period from 2020 to 2022.
He mentioned that two audits were conducted with a scope covering three years of procurement.
In his testimony, Iwan read out the conclusions of the BPKP audit results, which stated that no significant issues were found regarding the pricing of the devices.
“Based on the data we obtained and after conducting sample tests, we did not find any matters that significantly affect the accuracy of the prices. This means there are no problems with the pricing of the Chromebooks,” said Iwan during the trial.
Nevertheless, the audit also identified issues in the distribution aspect.
Iwan acknowledged that there were still inaccuracies in targeting the distribution of the devices to schools.
“But there is inaccurate targeting; some schools clearly received them, but others have not,” he said.
He emphasised that he was not involved in the procurement of the goods but carried out verification and validation of the delivery of the laptops.
