Witness in Noel's Trial Admits Depositing Rp 290 Million to 'Sultan of Kemnaker' Irvian Bobby
Director of PT Barito Sarana Karya (BSK), Rony Sugiarto, admitted to providing non-technical payments to the ‘sultan’ in the alleged extortion case involving occupational safety and health (K3) certificates at the Ministry of Manpower, Irvian Bobby Mahendro Putro. The total amount given was around Rp 290 million.
Rony conveyed this during his testimony as a witness at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court on Monday (6/4/2026). The defendants in the trial are former Deputy Minister of Manpower Immanuel Ebenezer (Noel), Irvian Bobby, and nine other defendants.
Initially, Rony said he received assistance from Bobby. Rony explained that PT BSK often inquired with Bobby about processing K3 certifications due to frequent changes in handling officials.
“Did you also give that non-technical money?” asked the prosecutor.
“Yes, sir. So when we had many SIOs (Operator Licences) that hadn’t been collected there, the handling there changed several times, sir. Initially handled by a certain Mr or Mrs for this field, then it changed again. So we often asked for help from Mr Bobby, sir, often asking who was handling it now. In the end, Mr Bobby helped with several fields,” replied Rony.
“And that was thanks to Mr Bobby that the matters were resolved quickly?” asked the prosecutor.
“Yes, sir,” replied Rony.
Rony said the money was handed over to Bobby through PT BSK’s representative named Ginanjar. He is certain that the non-technical money was given to Bobby.
“Did you give it directly to Mr Bobby?” asked the prosecutor.
“Through Mr Ginanjar, sir,” replied Rony.
“So PT BSK gave it to Mr Bobby?” asked the prosecutor.
“Yes,” replied Rony.
“Are you sure it was given to Mr Bobby?” asked the prosecutor.
“I’m sure, sir,” replied Rony.
The prosecutor then delved into the amount of money PT BSK gave to Bobby. Rony said PT BSK gave non-technical money of Rp 190 million to Bobby in 2025.
“So in 2025, PT BSK gave non-technical money to the defendant Irvian Bobby how much?” asked the prosecutor.
“As far as I remember, around over Rp 100 million, sir,” replied Rony.
“Rp 100 million or Rp 190 million?” asked the prosecutor.
“Yeah, Rp 100 something million, I forget the exact amount, sir,” replied Rony.
“In BAP number 15, you stated, with permission Your Honour, ‘that during 2024 PT BSK has handed over money amounting to Rp 197,775,000 to Sekarsari’?” asked the prosecutor.
“Yes,” replied Rony.
“And to Mr Irvian Bobby earlier, how much?” asked the prosecutor.
“Rp 190 million,” replied Rony.
The prosecutor also probed the payment to Bobby in 2023. Rony said PT BSK handed over around Rp 100 million to Bobby in that year.
“Do you remember for 2023?” asked the prosecutor.
“I think not that much, sir, around COVID it wasn’t too many activities,” replied Rony.
“So as far as you know, how much?” asked the prosecutor.
“Approximately Rp 100 million,” replied Rony.
“To both Mr Irvian Bobby and Mrs Sekar?” asked the prosecutor.
“Yes,” replied Rony.
