Without Restorative Justice, Complainant Reveals Conditions for Withdrawing Report Against Pandji Pragiwaksono
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - One of the complainants against comedian Pandji Pragiwaksono, Novel Bamukmin, stated that there are four conditions that must be fulfilled for the alleged blasphemy case to be resolved without going through the restorative justice (RJ) mechanism.
This was conveyed by Novel during the mediation session for the alleged blasphemy case related to stand-up comedy material at Polda Metro Jaya on Thursday (9/4/2026).
“We have given the conditions; there are four points here. These are requirements from several organisations and several ulama; I am just carrying them out,” Novel told reporters on Thursday.
According to him, the decision was made after receiving guidance from the ulama and teachers he respects.
The four conditions that Pandji must fulfil for the case to be forgiven are as follows:
Admit the mistake that has been made.
Ask for forgiveness from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala for his actions.
Apologise directly to the Muslim community, not through a third party.
Promise not to repeat the same action in the future.
He also emphasised that up to now, there has been no communication or clarification efforts from Pandji’s side to him.
“Up to now, no communication, no tabayyun at all,” he said.
On the other hand, Novel’s legal representative, Damai Hari Lubis, requested that these conditions be made transparently and read out in front of the public.
“Later in front of the journalists, we ask him to admit it. And he reads it in front of our friends in the press. Maybe today, he said, if he wants those four conditions,” Damai said.
