No one can deny that Ibu Megawati Soekarnoputri has made the
Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI Perjuangan) the
biggest party in the country and helped it to win the 1999
General Election.

It is very ironic that a decision made by the chairwoman,
which should have been adopted as a decision of the party, then
becomes a matter of controversy among its members.

It is really sad if Tarmizi, as deputy of Jakarta's PDI
Perjuangan faction and some other branch and regional chairmen,
have to go against the policy adopted by their own party's
chairperson.

As a lay person, I find it strange! Tarmizi and the others
should have realized that they are not the ones who keep the
party united, but it is Mega and this is a fact.

We hope that PDI Perjuangan will always be alert to the
tactics of other parties to topple Ibu Mega by using Tarmizi and
his friends.
