Without a Mask, Prabowo Inspects Kalimantan Forest Fires

President Prabowo Subianto directly inspected forest and land fire locations in Limbung Village, Sungai Raya District, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan, on Saturday (22/8/2026).

The inspection was carried out after the President led a forest and land fire handling meeting with ministry and agency leaders and regional governments to discuss the latest conditions on the ground.

Prabowo was seen walking through an area still shrouded in smoke and observing several points that had been extinguished.

Several officers were still working to extinguish remaining flames at the site. The President then greeted and briefly spoke with officers about the state of forest and land fire handling.

Earlier, during the forest and land fire handling meeting, the President asked relevant officials to present the actual conditions of forest and land fires in West Kalimantan as a basis for determining handling measures according to the situation on the ground.

In the meeting, Prabowo received the latest reports on the forest and land fire situation and emphasised the need for rapid, coordinated handling oriented towards field conditions.
