Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Director of Public Policy, Government Affairs & Corporate Communications at PepsiCo, Gabrielle Angriani Johny, has assured that all raw materials used by the company adhere to the standards set by the government. According to her, these standards include toxin levels and other regulations that align with both company policies and government rules.

“We have an obligation to society and the government regarding raw material standards. We ensure that everything complies with regulatory standards in using certain additives,” she explained at the Food Summit 2026 held at Menara Bank Mega in Jakarta, as quoted on Tuesday (28/4/2026).

In addition, Gabrielle supports the government’s efforts on sustainability in various ways, including using electricity from renewable energy sources, recycled water, and many other initiatives that align with responsibility and sustainability.

Gabrielle also assured that amid geopolitical conditions and rising raw material prices, PepsiCo Indonesia will not lower its quality.

“Quality and standards will not be reduced due to rising raw material prices. That is not possible because our standards are very strict,” Gabrielle detailed.

On the other hand, Gabrielle mentioned that many people are still unaware that high-quality raw materials for products are not always available in Indonesia. Therefore, it is not surprising that some raw materials are still imported.

As a snack food producer, PepsiCo Indonesia has committed to implementing regulations and ensuring a food supply chain.

“We remain committed to our obligations. However, we believe more education is needed for society and farmers. We have collaborated with farmer partners to produce crops suitable for industry and that can be absorbed by the market,” she explained.

According to Gabrielle, the company is always active in educating and developing potato and corn agriculture with local farmers. This effort is part of the company’s commitment to boosting farmer productivity and quality.

“We also strive for knowledge transfer. This can be done quickly, and farmers are willing to accept guidance so that yields can increase,” she clarified.
