With Rp 40 Trillion in Funds, Prabowo Plans to Renovate Soeharto-Era Puskesmas

President Prabowo Subianto has confirmed that the fresh funds obtained by the state from the efforts of the Forest Area Zoning Task Force (Satgas PKH), which have accumulated to Rp 40 trillion, will be used to improve public infrastructure. One of the targets for renovation using these administrative fines and forest land funds is the Community Health Centre or Puskesmas, which has not been renovated for 30 years since the era of President Soeharto. These Puskesmas are scattered across various remote areas of Indonesia, numbering 10,000. “I recently toured several remote areas and received reports from the Minister of Health: we have 10,000 Puskesmas from the time of Pak Harto; these Puskesmas have not been repaired for 30 years,” said Prabowo at the Handover of Administrative Fines and Forest Land at the Attorney General’s Office in Jakarta on Wednesday (13/5/2026). Prabowo stated that the funds available to the government from Satgas PKH are more than sufficient to renovate all the Puskesmas in those remote areas, as the renovation cost per unit is only around Rp 2 billion. “Approximately Rp 2 billion per Puskesmas. So we need Rp 20 trillion. Therefore, brothers and sisters, today that means we can complete 5,000 Puskesmas with Rp 10 trillion,” Prabowo emphasised.
