With Orphans, Boni Hargens Holds Prayer for World Peace
Senior political analyst Boni Hargens held a joint prayer with hundreds of orphans and local residents in a festive Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah atmosphere at his residence, Rumah Perdamaian in Depok, West Java, on Saturday, 28 March 2026. This joint prayer was specifically dedicated to world peace, given the current unstable global conditions. In addition to the joint prayer, Boni Hargens also distributed aid to the orphans.
“Our world is currently not in good shape, with the US-Israel war against Iran and the unfinished Russia-Ukraine war. All of this creates global instability that could impact Indonesia’s domestic situation,” said Boni Hargens in his speech.
Boni emphasised that wars have caused negative impacts on both human life and the surrounding environment. The situation in the Middle East and its global repercussions, he said, speak volumes about the negative effects of such wars.
Therefore, Boni stated, one noble way to respond is to pray to God to make the world better. It is God the Creator who can make the world better.
“Of course, we also pray to God to grant wisdom and mercy to world leaders, especially those involved in wars, so they prioritise dialogue over war or violent methods in responding to or resolving issues,” Boni added.
Furthermore, Boni revealed that he prefers social activities and prayers over creating theories or analyses that respond to the global situation by cornering the government, which is also struggling to stop wars and address their impacts. Boni believes the government is working to anticipate the effects of wars on Indonesia.
Therefore, he called on Indonesian society to always pray so that God blesses the government’s struggles and all elements of Indonesian society for the good of the nation and state, as well as world peace.
“If other experts propose hypotheses or theories that often cause anxiety and corner the government, we choose social activities, inviting society to pray for the good of the nation and state as well as world peace,” Boni concluded.
