With Danantara, PNM Expands Services to 516 Networks in 3T Regions
In many areas, particularly the frontier, outermost, and disadvantaged (3T) regions, access to formal financial services is still defined by hours-long journeys across the sea, through mountains, or penetrating forests. In regions such as the small islands of Natuna, the Talaud Islands, and Maluku, the highlands of Papua, and border villages in Nusa Tenggara, geographical challenges pose a real obstacle to equal economic opportunity. It is in these hard-to-reach spaces that the spirit of development is tested, and PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (Persero) is present to contribute to the nation.
"PNM is present through 4,035 units, of which 516 are in 3T regions. This means more than 10% of PNM’s service network reaches areas with challenging terrain," said PNM President Director Kindaris. According to Kindaris, when underprivileged communities, especially women ultra-micro entrepreneurs, gain access to financing and mentoring, what grows is not only their business but also self-confidence, family independence, and the village economic cycle. Therefore, expanding service reach to 3T regions is not merely business expansion, but a tangible form of delivering economic justice.
Under the umbrella of Danantara Indonesia, PNM views this transformation momentum as an opportunity to strengthen its role as a development agent. The support of the Danantara ecosystem opens up wider collaboration space, accelerates service innovation, strengthens operational capacity, and encourages synergy among state-owned enterprises so that access to financing and empowerment can reach more people. Danantara Indonesia Chief Operating Officer and Head of BP BUMN Dony Oskaria urged continued direction of financing support to productive sectors capable of creating jobs, increasing competitiveness, and providing real impact for the community, one of which is MSME empowerment.
For PNM, financing is only the first step. What sets it apart is the sustainability of empowerment. Business mentoring, strengthening entrepreneurial capacity, financial literacy, and character building form the foundation so that every loan truly transforms the quality of life of its clients. This approach enables millions of underprivileged women not only to sustain their businesses but also to create new jobs and become economic drivers in their communities. This transformation is also in line with the spirit of ‘Melayani Sepenuh Hati’ (Serving Wholeheartedly) promoted by Danantara through the Danantara Indonesia CX100 programme. This programme encourages all state-owned enterprises to build superior customer experiences, placing the quality of the community’s experience as the primary measure of service success, not merely operational achievements.
This spirit has long been part of how the company engages with the community. Account Officers are not just field officers, but mentors who know their clients’ conditions, understand their challenges, and grow together in every empowerment process. "Success is not measured by how far we disburse financing, but by how far we are able to bring hope to the most difficult-to-reach areas. Under Danantara’s umbrella, we have greater optimism to expand access to financing and empowerment to the corners of Indonesia," added Kindaris. Every underprivileged woman deserves an equal opportunity to grow. That is why PNM is committed to supporting Danantara’s transformation by ensuring that every PNM service is not only effective and easily accessible but also provides a warm, humane experience that has a real impact on people’s lives.
