With Danantara, BTN Strengthens Business Transformation
PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) continues to demonstrate solid business fundamentals amid global economic dynamics and the national banking industry. The bank’s consistently executed business transformation and strengthened synergy within the Danantara Indonesia ecosystem have driven sustainable consolidated performance growth, surpassing the national banking industry average as of May 2026. BTN’s integration into the Danantara Indonesia ecosystem has become a key catalyst in accelerating the company’s transformation. Through Danantara, BTN gains access to broader cross-sector synergy, operational efficiency through resource sharing, and capital optimisation to support more massive business expansion. Based on the company’s consolidated monthly financial report up to May 2026, BTN posted a consolidated net profit of IDR 1.85 trillion, an increase of 54.37 percent year-on-year (yoy) compared to IDR 1.19 trillion in the same period last year. Net interest income was recorded at IDR 7.13 trillion, growing 15.15 percent yoy from IDR 6.19 trillion. The company’s business expansion also maintained good quality. As of May 2026, total consolidated loans and financing reached IDR 403.06 trillion, up 9.97 percent yoy from IDR 366.52 trillion in May 2025. Consolidated third-party funds (DPK) were recorded at IDR 433.95 trillion, growing 9.09 percent yoy from IDR 397.78 trillion. BTN also recorded a strong increase in operational profitability. Consolidated operating profit reached IDR 2.39 trillion, surging 58.37 percent yoy from IDR 1.51 trillion. Meanwhile, BTN Group’s pre-provision operating profit (PPOP) reached IDR 3.98 trillion, growing 20.07 percent yoy from IDR 3.31 trillion. This performance exceeded the national banking industry average. According to Financial Services Authority (OJK) data, the net profit of national commercial banks up to May 2026 grew 4.96 percent yoy, while BTN’s consolidated net profit surged 54.37 percent yoy. BTN’s credit growth of 9.97 percent yoy also surpassed the industry’s 8.62 percent, while its DPK growth of 9.09 percent yoy far exceeded the industry average of 4.29 percent. In line with this growth, BTN is accelerating its business transformation through business process simplification, strengthened governance, modernisation of information technology infrastructure, accelerated service digitalisation, and optimised synergy within the Danantara Indonesia ecosystem. These measures are directed at creating a more productive and adaptive organisation capable of generating sustainable growth. Nixon emphasised that BTN’s transformation into a beyond mortgage bank is a strategic move to broaden growth sources while delivering financial services more relevant to the community’s needs. He affirmed that BTN is no longer solely focused on housing finance, but is expanding its role as a bank that accompanies the community’s financial needs at every life stage, from realising home ownership and supporting lifestyle needs to preparing for retirement. ‘At the same time, we are also building an integrated housing ecosystem to facilitate transactions across the entire housing business value chain and its related sectors.
