With a King's invitation, 42 Indonesian nationals can perform Hajj for free without having to queue
The Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has again sponsored the departure of 42 Indonesian citizens to perform Hajj free of charge by invitation of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. ‘It is certainly an honour for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and it is our duty to continually provide the best service to all Muslims, including Hajj pilgrims,’ said the Saudi Ambassador to Indonesia, Faisal Abdullah H. Amodi, at the departure ceremony for Indonesian prospective pilgrims in Jakarta on Tuesday, 19 May 2026. He said the Hajj guest invitation programme is a direct directive from King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) to provide ease, service and the best facilities for Indonesian figures undertaking the pilgrimage. According to him, this Hajj programme is also part of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to improving the quality of Hajj service for Muslims worldwide, including Indonesia. On that occasion, Faisal also prayed that the prospective pilgrims who have already departed and those who will depart would attain Hajj Mabrur and receive forgiveness, and return home safely. This year, 42 Indonesian citizens from various backgrounds and regions have received the invitation as Hajj guests of King Salman. They will depart for the Holy Land on Tuesday evening, 19 May, and will return to the homeland on 3 June 2026.
