WITEX 2026 to Boost West Java's Coffee, Tea and Cocoa Exports to Global Markets
The Provincial Government of West Java, through the Department of Industry and Trade (Disperindag), will hold the West Java International Tea, Coffee and Cocoa Expo (WITEX) 2026 as an effort to expand export market access for coffee, tea and cocoa businesses. Head of the West Java Industry and Trade Office, Nining Yulistiani, said WITEX is designed not only as an exhibition arena, but also as a platform to connect business players with international buyers and various export support institutions. “WITEX is here to bring West Java’s coffee, tea and cocoa businesses into the global business ecosystem. Through various activities, we want to open market access and connect them with potential buyers,” said Nining on Tuesday, 9 June 2026. A total of 72 business communities will participate in the activity. In addition, 19 agencies and institutions, including Bank Indonesia, the Ministry of Trade, and the Indonesia Eximbank (LPEI), will also be present to provide assistance regarding licensing, financing, and export market development. Besides exhibitions, WITEX will also feature talkshows, workshops, product auctions, and business matching as the main agenda. Through this programme, business players will have the opportunity to present their products directly to potential buyers from various countries. A total of 42 buyers from 11 countries are scheduled to attend the event, including Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Pakistan, the United States, Germany, and Saudi Arabia. In addition, WITEX will also be the momentum for the export release of two containers of coffee from West Java to Egypt. According to Nining, coffee, tea and cocoa were chosen as the main focus because they are West Java’s leading commodities with great potential both in terms of production and international market opportunities. “We want to encourage local potential to have higher added value and be able to compete in the international market,” she said. Support for the implementation of WITEX also came from Associate Expert Trade Analyst and Head of the Plantation Team at the Directorate General of National Export Development (PEN), Ministry of Trade, Irman Adi Purwanto Moefti. According to him, international activities organised by regional governments can be an effective means to expand the promotion of Indonesian products to the global market.
