REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The WSO Indonesia Safety Culture Award (WISCA) 2026 was held in Jakarta on Friday, May 8, 2026. The award recognises companies for their consistent performance and ongoing commitment to implementing workplace safety and health practices.

A total of 29 companies that have demonstrated and implemented aspects of occupational safety and health (K3) received appreciation from WSO Indonesia.

“WISCA is not a competition, but rather a form of appreciation for companies that have implemented K3 aspects well and have made K3 a culture within the company,” said Chairman of WSO Indonesia, Soehatman Ramli, at the award ceremony in Jakarta on Friday.

Through WISCA, WSO Indonesia seeks to encourage industries in Indonesia to continue improving the maturity of their respective companies’ K3 culture.

Of the 29 companies awarded, nine received appreciation in the Platinum category (generative culture level), 19 companies in the Gold category (proactive), and one company in the Silver category (calculative).

WSO Indonesia also awarded PT Sarihusada Generasi Mahardika (Sarihusada) the Platinum Level Workplace Safety Award. The award was presented by the Chairman of the World Safety Organization Indonesia, Soehatman Ramli, Dipl SM, IASP, to the Factory Director of Sarihusada East Factory, Lastiani Amy Rosalina.

This moment also reflects the strong workplace safety culture that has been embedded throughout the company’s organisational structure. The Platinum award is a form of appreciation for the company’s commitment to building a sustainable workplace safety culture throughout its operations.

The award is based on a comprehensive assessment that includes measuring the level of safety culture, verifying documents, and conducting a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) in an independent, objective, and professional manner. Based on this assessment process, Sarihusada was found to have met all the criteria and indicators set in WISCA 2026.

This achievement reflects Sarihusada’s unwavering commitment to placing safety as a top priority in all operational activities, to ensure a safe, healthy, and sustainable work environment for all employees and stakeholders.

The Platinum Level award indicates that safety at Sarihusada is not only seen as compliance with regulations, but as a core value that underlies decision-making, work behaviour, and continuous improvement efforts.

This award ceremony is also part of a series of events commemorating National Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Month 2026, which carries the theme of World Day for Safety and Health at Work. This year, WISCA 2026 was attended by various companies from various industries in Indonesia that have been successful in implementing a consistent workplace safety culture.

On this occasion, Lastiani Amy Rosalina said that this award is a motivation for the company to continue strengthening the workplace safety culture involving all employees and partners.

“This award is an appreciation as well as a reminder for us that the culture of safety must continue to be maintained and strengthened every day. At Sarihusada, safety is not just about complying with procedures, but has become part of the work culture and shared responsibility.”

She added that the company believes that a safe and healthy work environment is an important foundation in supporting business sustainability and employee welfare.

“We believe that a strong safety culture can only be built through the involvement of all parties, from management to all employees on the ground. Therefore, we will continue to encourage the creation of a work environment that is safe, healthy, and caring,” she said.

To support operational safety in the factory area, Sarihusada also implements various safety initiatives that focus on strengthening culture, behaviour, and concern for workplace safety.

Various programs implemented include Safety Trigger integrated with the Integrated Work System (IWS), Job Cycle Check (JCC), Leader Coaching on The Floor (LCOTF), and various initiatives in the field of health and employee welfare. In addition, the company continues to strengthen the implementation of basic operational safety standards through various approaches and assessments, such as Hazard Area Classification (HAC), Machine Assessment Safety (MAS), and Powered Industrial Vehicle Assessment (PIV).

Various safety initiatives based on automation are also continuously being developed to ensure that all company operations run safely and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations in Indonesia.

WSO Indonesia believes that a strong K3 culture is the main foundation in realising World Class Safety Performance, as well as encouraging award-winning companies to become role models in strengthening the implementation of workplace safety culture in Indonesia.
