Wireless Technology Begins to Unify Meetings, AI, AR, and Drones
Wireless collaboration technology has now moved beyond its basic function as a replacement for presentation cables. The latest transformation demonstrates the ability of this technology to connect various devices, content, and users simultaneously, including integration with Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR) glasses, and even drones.
This vision of the future was presented by ASTROS, a wireless collaboration technology brand by Taiwan-based Astrogate Inc., during ‘The Future of Wireless Collaboration’ event in Jakarta on Monday (14/9/2026). In partnership with local partner PT Surya Candra, ASTROS officially introduced the AS-301 series wireless docking station while demonstrating various AI-based applications.
CEO of PT Surya Candra, Budi Suryo, emphasised that the presence of this technology is not merely for the aesthetics of a cable-free workspace. “As a software-based company, what we want to do is make meetings smarter,” said Budi.
According to him, wireless technology simplifies the meeting process by connecting devices without technical hurdles such as searching for dongles or repeatedly plugging in cables. The AS-301 device is specifically designed for medium to large-scale meeting rooms. One of its key advantages is the ability to support multiple cameras and display up to four content sources simultaneously on a single screen.
Despite offering convenience, technical challenges such as latency or transmission delays remain a concern. Budi guaranteed that ASTROS technology has been designed to ensure the content sharing process is fast and smooth without significant lag. The development of ASTROS is now expanding into broader sectors. In the Jakarta demonstration, this technology proved capable of transmitting the viewpoint of AR smart glasses users to a large screen in real-time. This innovation opens significant opportunities for technical training methods and remote visual instruction.
Furthermore, integration with drones allows video captured from the air to be sent directly to classrooms or training centres. This enables participants to view field situations from a drone’s perspective without needing to be at the physical location.
Senior Director of Astrogate Inc., Allie Liu, stated that this development reflects the shifting function of wireless technology. “Through the AS-301 and AI application demos, we want to show how wireless technology can connect people, devices, and content across various environments,” she explained.
The sophistication offered by ASTROS is supported by Astrogate Inc.’s experience of over 20 years in the wireless industry. Before launching the ASTROS brand in 2019, the development team was well-known through WePresent products under the AWIND umbrella. Currently, ASTROS products are used in more than 30 countries. With a vision to build a vast collaboration ecosystem, this technology is projected to not only dominate corporate meeting rooms but also become a new standard in government agencies and the global education sector.
