Tangerang Regency Government continues to expand social security protection for employment for vulnerable workers. These efforts have led Tangerang Regency to win the Paritrana Award 2025 in the best district category nationwide. The award was presented by Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhaimin Iskandar to Tangerang Regent Moch Maesyal Rasyid at the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Plaza Building, Jakarta, on Friday (8/5/2026). The Paritrana Award 2025 is organised by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan as a form of appreciation for local governments, villages/sub-districts, and business actors deemed to have strong commitments in expanding employment social security protection. The award is given to regions and business actors that have successfully encouraged compliance and increased coverage of protection for workers, especially vulnerable workers. “Alhamdulillah, today Tangerang Regency received the third annual award related to BPJS Ketenagakerjaan participation across Indonesia. With this award, we will continue to increase the number of BPJS participants and also increase the budget we will prepare,” he said in a press release received by Kompas.com on Friday (8/5/2026). Maesyal emphasised that Tangerang Regency Government will strengthen collaboration with village governments so that the community, especially vulnerable workers in villages, receives employment social security protection. According to him, such protection is important to provide social security to the community working in the informal sector and vulnerable to work risks. “We will collaborate with village governments so that people in villages can be protected and guaranteed in their social aspects. This is an effort to increase the number of BPJS participants in Tangerang Regency, especially for vulnerable workers,” said Maesyal. “Traders, farmers, fishermen, drivers, domestic workers, artisans, and other informal workers will have their participant numbers increased. Collaboration among various parties will also be strengthened to provide social security to vulnerable worker communities in Tangerang Regency,” he explained. Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister Muhaimin Iskandar appreciated all regional heads receiving the Paritrana Award 2025, both at the provincial and regency/city levels. He hopes the award can encourage other local governments to expand employment social security protection for the community, especially vulnerable workers. “May this award increasingly motivate other regional heads to continue providing guarantees to vulnerable workers, especially the community in their regions,” said Muhaimin.
