Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chairman of the Golkar Party Faction in the Indonesian House of Representatives, Muhammad Sarmuji, has committed to continuing to absorb and champion the aspirations of the people following his receipt of the “Legislator Responsive to Public Aspirations” award at the Koordinatoriat Wartawan Parlemen (KWP) Award 2026. He is regarded as a people’s representative who actively responds to societal aspirations. In a statement in Jakarta on Friday, Sarmuji expressed appreciation for the award given by KWP. He considers the award as recognition of the political work that has been carried out. “First, thank you to KWP. I have been given the award as a legislator responsive to public aspirations,” he said. “Personally, I have been given the award as a politician figure responsive to public aspirations. The award is relevant, and of course, I feel honoured by the recognition from KWP because this award reflects the work that has already been done in parliament,” he stated. The KWP Award 2026 is not merely a ceremonial event but also a symbol of oversight and appreciation from parliamentary journalists towards the performance of people’s representatives. Through this award, legislators are expected to be further encouraged to continue delivering policies that favour the public and support the realisation of Golden Indonesia. The KWP Award 2026 is a biennial routine agenda carrying the theme “Escorting the Struggle, Appreciating Dedication: Together Realising Golden Indonesia”. In this 2026 edition, there were more than 60 award recipients nominated. The tradition of giving such awards has been consistent, such as the KWP Award 2021 led by Marlen Erikson Sitompul and the KWP Award 2023 helmed by Ariawan along with Samrut Lellosima. The implementation of the KWP Award 2026 also received broad support from a number of state-owned enterprises (BUMN) and private companies that play a role in national development, including Bank Mandiri, BNI, BRI, GoTo, Astra, Hutama Karya, PLN, Taspen, Inalum, and others. That support reinforces the importance of collaboration among elements in realising better state governance.
