Wings Air to open new Bandung-Palembang route on 7 August 2026
Palembang (ANTARA) - Wings Air will open a new round-trip Bandung-Palembang route starting 7 August 2026 to improve connectivity between South Sumatra and West Java. Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin (SMB) II Airport Palembang General Manager Ahmad Syaugi Shahab said on Tuesday the new route is part of efforts to strengthen air transport access and meet public mobility needs. “Alhamdulillah, we are grateful that Wings Air has again entrusted SMB II Airport as a destination in its network development. The opening of the Bandung-Palembang route is a tangible step in improving inter-regional connectivity in Indonesia,” he said. He explained that Wings Air will serve the route six times a week. Flights from Bandung to Palembang are scheduled every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, departing at 09:00 WIB and arriving at 10:55 WIB. Meanwhile, flights from Palembang to Bandung will operate every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, departing SMB II Airport at 11:25 WIB and arriving in Bandung at 13:15 WIB. “We hope the opening of this new route will be a good start. Going forward, we also hope for more new routes, both from Wings Air and other airlines, so that SMB II Airport can further strengthen its role as an aviation hub in the South Sumatra region,” he said. He added that the new Bandung-Palembang route is expected to boost growth in tourism, trade, and economic activities in both regions through improved transport access. Tickets for the route are now available and can be booked through all official Wings Air sales channels. SMB II Airport Palembang continues to work on improving flight connectivity as the main air transport gateway in South Sumatra.
