Wings Air to Launch Pekanbaru-Melaka Route Starting June 2026, Note the Schedule
Flight operator Wings Air is opening a return flight route from Pekanbaru to Melaka, Malaysia, starting 10 June 2026. “For Indonesians, particularly those from Sumatra and Java, the presence of this route adds value because travel to Malaysia no longer requires transiting through more distant cities. Journey times become more comfortable,” said Wings Air Corporate Communications Strategic Danang Mandala Prihantoro in an official statement, quoted on Tuesday (12/5/2026). Danang stated that this modern turboprop aircraft is deemed suitable for serving regional routes with optimal cabin comfort and travel efficiency. He continued that with this route, family tourism, community travel, and short getaways become more flexible with increasingly broad connectivity. Meanwhile, for businesspeople and entrepreneurs, the Pekanbaru-Melaka connectivity supports business mobility and inter-regional economic relations. The geographical proximity between Sumatra and Malaysia, he added, presents great potential in supporting trade, investment, and cross-border business activities. “This route also benefits communities with family travel needs, education, health, or other social visits to Malaysia with more practical and affordable access,” Danang revealed.
