Wings Air Launches Batam-Rengat Route from 23 June 2026: Check Schedule and Ticket Prices

Air transport connectivity between the Riau Islands Province and Riau is set to strengthen. Wings Air, under the Lion Air Group, has officially announced the launch of a new flight route connecting Batam (BTH) and Rengat (RGT) from 23 June 2026.

Strategic move to ease mobility for residents, businesses, and tourists who previously had to take long land and sea routes to Indragiri Hulu Regency, Riau. The direct route now reduces travel time to approximately 70 minutes.

Amar Fernando, Lion Air Group’s Riau Islands Area Manager, stated that the new route is part of the company’s commitment to expand connectivity networks in Sumatra. Batam, as a trade hub, has high mobility demands to supporting areas like Rengat.

“We aim to provide fast, safe, and comfortable air transport access. This route is expected to support regional economic growth and strengthen intercity connectivity,” said Amar Fernando on Friday (29 May).

In addition to cutting travel time, the route offers strategic advantages for Rengat residents. Through Batam’s Hang Nadim International Airport, passengers now have broader access to connect to major Indonesian cities and international destinations served by the Lion Air Group network.

The trade and logistics sectors are expected to benefit positively. Goods distribution between Batam and Indragiri Hulu Regency is anticipated to become more efficient. Meanwhile, the natural and cultural tourism potential in Indragiri Hulu now has a significant opportunity to attract more international tourists entering via Batam.
