Wings Air Cancels Kupang-Larantuka Flights for a Week Due to Eruption

Wings Air has cancelled flights from Kupang to Gewayantana Airport in Larantuka and vice versa for a period of seven days due to the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki. The cancellation is effective from Saturday, 25 July 2026, until Friday, 31 July 2026. This was stated in a letter received by the Head of Gewayantana Airport, Puguh Lukito. Wings Air representative Lily Kusmiati confirmed the cancellation, citing force majeure. Despite the flight cancellations, Puguh Lukito stated that Gewayantana Airport is currently operating normally. He clarified that the airport itself is not closed, but a closure would be proposed if volcanic ash spread into the airport’s airspace.
