Willy's NasDem Joke About Arranging DPR Meeting: Gerindra-NasDem First or Shall We Merge?

The moment occurred as members of DPR Commission XIII took turns posing questions to BPIP Head Yudian Wahyu. After a member from the Golkar Faction finished presenting their views, Willy then invited either a member from the Gerindra Faction or the NasDem Faction to ask questions to Yudian Wahyu.

“Thanks, sir, shall we continue with Gerindra or NasDem first?” Willy asked during the Commission XIII DPR meeting at the DPR RI in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (13/4/2026).

Willy then joked about a merger. He pointed out that Commission XIII DPR member from the Gerindra Faction, Anwar Sadad, and Commission XIII DPR member from the NasDem Faction, Muslim Ayub, were sitting next to each other.

“Or shall NasDem merge with Gerindra? Because they’re already sitting side by side,” Willy said with a laugh.

He also alluded to the empty chair between them merely serving as a connection between the two parties. “Ha? Yeah, that empty chair is just a bridge, sir. Please go ahead,” Willy remarked.

Subsequently, Muslim Ayub delivered his statement and questions to Yudian Wahyu. After he finished, Willy joked again. He referenced Gondangdia, the location of NasDem Tower, and Kertanegara, which is Prabowo Subianto’s home.

“Continuing next door, responding back and forth, from Gondangdia to Brawijaya, from Gondangdia to Kertanegara,” Willy said.

Willy’s remark was met with laughter from Anwar Sadad. Anwar Sadad then proceeded to give a statement regarding the meeting with BPIP.
