Willy Aditya's Joke at DPR Meeting on NasDem Merger with Gerindra

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chairman of the House of Representatives Commission XIII, Willy Aditya, made a joke about the NasDem Party merging with the Gerindra Party during a meeting in the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday.

The joke was delivered by Willy during the session for members of Commission XIII to provide their responses in a hearing with the Head of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP), Yudian Wahyudi.

Initially, Willy, as the meeting chair, invited members from the NasDem Faction or the Gerindra Faction to give their responses to the BPIP Head’s presentation.

The meeting discussed the roadmap for Pancasila ideology development and the Draft Law on BPIP.

“Shall we continue with Gerindra or NasDem first?” said Willy, referring to Commission XIII House member from the Gerindra Faction, Anwar Sadad, who was sitting next to the member from the NasDem Faction, Muslim Ayub.

“Or do you want NasDem to merge with Gerindra?” Willy continued, who is also a member of the NasDem Faction, prompting laughter from the meeting participants.

Willy also joked about the seating positions of the two members, which were only separated by one empty chair.

According to him, the empty chair was the connector between them. “Because they’re already sitting next to each other,” said Willy cheerfully.

“Yes, that empty chair is bridging, sir, please go ahead,” he said.

Muslim Ayub from the NasDem Faction then delivered his response first. After that, Willy invited a response from Anwar Sadad.

“Continue, next to him, back and forth. From Gondangdia to Brawijaya, eh, Kertanegara,” Willy quipped.

Gondangdia in Central Jakarta is the location of NasDem Tower, while Kertanegara in South Jakarta is the location of the residence of the President of the Republic of Indonesia and General Chairman of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto.
