Will Ragunan Zoo Tickets Increase? Here is Pramono's Response

Entrance tickets for Ragunan Zoo are likely to increase. The Jakarta Provincial Government is currently considering a proposal to update the latest tariff to Rp 10,000.

Currently, visitor tickets at Ragunan are priced at Rp 4,000 per adult and Rp 3,000 per child.

Governor Pramono Anung stated that his administration will decide on the proposal in the near future. He also revealed that Ragunan’s tickets are among the lowest in the world, which serves as one of the reasons for considering an adjustment to the entrance fees.

“Ragunan is a zoo in the capital with the lowest prices in the world. Therefore, we are considering an adjustment, but it has not yet been decided; I will decide soon,” Pramono explained, as quoted from the official channel of the Jakarta Provincial Government on Sunday (20/09/2026).

Requests for the price adjustment have come from various parties, including not only the zoo management but also the public.

The consideration for the tariff adjustment is also being made in view of the high costs of maintaining the flora and fauna within the zoo. Meanwhile, visitor numbers to the zoo have been steadily increasing, especially following the introduction of night operating hours.

“The request is being made because the price is too low, while the costs for the care of animals, fauna, flora, and so on, are also quite high,” he explained.
