Wildfires Spread in Mount Bromo, State Secretary Responds

State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has spoken out regarding the forest and land fires that are increasingly spreading in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, East Java. Prasetyo explained that the government is continuing its efforts to extinguish the hotspots in the national park area. Coordination with the Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni, the East Java Provincial Government, and the Head of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park is ongoing. “We continue to coordinate to make the hardest possible efforts to carry out the extinguishing process as soon as possible so that it does not continue to spread,” Prasetyo told reporters at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Monday. Prasetyo added that various equipment, including water bombing, helicopters, and aircraft, have been deployed to tackle the forest and land fires in accordance with the President’s instructions from last night. He also urged the public to avoid any activities that could potentially trigger fires amidst the current dry weather conditions.
