Wild Grass Fire in Rorotan, North Jakarta: Three Fire Engines Deployed

A fire occurred in the Nusa Kirana Cluster housing complex area, Jalan Kirana Boulevard Selatan, Rorotan, Cilincing, North Jakarta. The object that caught fire was wild vegetation or cogon grass.

The fire report was received by the North Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) on Saturday (29/8/2026) at around 11.42 WIB. The report was received from the Rorotan Task Force.

“Object on fire: cogon grass,” stated the North Jakarta Gulkarmat Service report.

Officers then deployed 14 fire engines with a total of 84 personnel to handle the fire.

The first unit from the Rorotan Post departed at 11.43 WIB and arrived at the location at 11.52 WIB. Firefighting operations began at 11.53 WIB, and the cooling process at 14.43 WIB.

As of the time this report was made, officers were still carrying out the extinguishing process. The extent of the burnt cogon grass area and the cause of the fire were not yet known. The extinguishing process was hampered by difficult access to water sources.

“Currently in the process of being extinguished by officers,” the report stated.
