WIKAIKON Supports Regional Connectivity Across Indonesia

PT Wijaya Karya Industri & Konstruksi (WIKAIKON), a subsidiary of PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA), continues to strengthen its role in supporting national infrastructure development through the procurement of suspension bridge superstructures in various regions of Indonesia during the first half of 2026. The procurement of these suspension bridges is part of efforts to improve community connectivity, particularly in areas with geographical challenges such as rivers, valleys, and limited inter-regional access. The presence of suspension bridges is expected to support community mobility, facilitate the distribution of goods, and open better access to education, health services, and regional economic centres. The suspension bridge procurement programme is implemented through the National Road Implementation Centres (BPJN) in each respective working area, using applicable procurement mechanisms, either through the Sectoral e-Catalogue or provider selection processes under the coordination of the National Road Implementation Task Force (PJN). The projects are spread across various provinces, including North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Lampung, Banten, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, Southeast Sulawesi, and South Sulawesi. The bridges produced have spans varying from 40 metres, 60 metres, 80 metres, 100 metres, to 120 metres, tailored to the characteristics of the location and the needs of each region. The trust placed in the procurement of these suspension bridges is one of WIKAIKON’s significant achievements in the first half of 2026. It also reflects the strengthening of the company’s capability as an Indonesian steel fabricator in providing engineering, fabrication, and steel construction solutions to support national infrastructure development. Support for the project is underpinned by WIKAIKON’s Steel Fabrication Plant in Majalengka, which has a production capacity of 65,000 tonnes of steel per year. With the support of modern fabrication technology, an integrated quality control system, and an experienced workforce, WIKAIKON is able to produce various steel structure requirements for bridges, industrial buildings, energy facilities, and other strategic infrastructure. For WIKAIKON, project success is measured not only by the completion of works but also by the benefits felt by the community. The presence of suspension bridges in various regions is expected to strengthen inter-regional connectivity, facilitate community mobility, and support more equitable local economic growth.
