WIKAIKON Supports Regional Connectivity Across Indonesia
PT Wijaya Karya Industri & Konstruksi (WIKAIKON), a subsidiary of PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA), continues to strengthen its role in supporting national infrastructure development through the procurement of superstructure components for suspension bridges across various regions of Indonesia throughout the first half of 2026.
The procurement of these suspension bridges is part of an effort to improve community connectivity, particularly in areas facing geographical challenges such as rivers, valleys, and limited inter-regional access. The presence of these bridges is expected to support community mobility, smooth the distribution of goods, and provide better access to education, healthcare, and regional economic centres.
The suspension bridge procurement programme is implemented through the National Road Implementation Office (BPJN) in each working area, using applicable procurement mechanisms, including the Sectoral e-Catalogue and provider selection processes under the coordination of the National Road Implementation Unit (PJN).
These projects are spread across various provinces, including North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Lampung, Banten, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, Southeast Sulawesi, and South Sulawesi. The bridges produced feature varying spans ranging from 40 metres, 60 metres, 80 metres, 100 metres, up to 120 metres, tailored to the characteristics of the location and the specific needs of each region.
The President Director of PT Wijaya Karya Industri & Konstruksi, Tri Prabowo, stated that the construction of suspension bridges plays a vital role in providing safer, easier, and more equitable access for the community.
“Behind every bridge structure we provide, there is the hope of the community for better access. We understand that infrastructure is not just about construction, but also about how people can carry out their activities more safely, quickly, and easily. The continued trust placed in WIKAIKON serves as motivation for us to continue providing the best products and services in supporting Indonesia’s development,” Tri said in a written statement.
Securing these suspension bridge procurement contracts marks a significant achievement for WIKAIKON in the first half of 2026. This also reflects the strengthening of the Company’s capability as an Indonesian steel fabricator in providing engineering, fabrication, and steel construction solutions to support national infrastructure development.
Support for these projects is bolstered by the WIKAIKON Steel Fabrication Plant in Majalengka, which has a production capacity of up to 65,000 tonnes of steel per year. With the support of modern fabrication technology, integrated quality control systems, and an experienced workforce, WIKAIKON is capable of producing various steel structure requirements for bridges, industrial buildings, energy facilities, and other strategic infrastructure.
