WIKA Responds After Office Raided Over Djatiroto Sugar Factory Corruption Case
Jakarta – PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk., or WIKA, has spoken out after its headquarters in East Jakarta were raided by investigators from the National Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor). The search is connected to an investigation into alleged corruption in the construction project of the Asembagoes Sugar Factory in Situbondo. The state-owned enterprise confirmed it will be cooperative and respect the ongoing legal process.
“Respecting the ongoing legal process and fully entrusting the matter to law enforcement officials in accordance with applicable regulations,” read the official statement from WIKA’s Corporate Secretary, quoted on Wednesday, 10 June 2026.
WIKA also affirmed its commitment to supporting the law enforcement process transparently. “The Company supports and emphasises its commitment to cooperate and be transparent so that the process can proceed professionally,” it stated.
WIKA’s name emerged in this case because it is part of an Operation Cooperation Consortium (KSO) with PT Barata Indonesia and PT Multinas Tjahja Sejahtera, which handled the sugar factory modernisation project.
It was previously reported that after conducting the search at the PT Wijaya Karya Tbk. (WIKA) office in East Jakarta, Kortastipidkor investigators removed a number of items of evidence. The evidence seized included not only physical documents but also electronic data, which will now be the focus of deeper investigation to unravel the alleged irregularities in the project worth hundreds of billions of rupiah.
The Head of the Investigation Team at the Kortastipidkor’s Crime Directorate, Senior Commissioner Gunawan, said the search was carried out to develop the case investigation. “Today we are executing a search related to the investigation process carried out by Kortastipidkor investigators,” he told reporters on Tuesday, 9 June 2026.
As is known, two individuals have been named suspects in the alleged corruption case concerning a project at PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) XI. The case relates to the integrated Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) development and modernisation project of the Djatiroto Sugar Factory at PTPN XI in 2016. The two suspects are Dolly Pulungan, the former President Director of PTPN XI, and Aris Toharisman, the former Director of Planning and Business Development at PTPN XI. Dolly Pulungan was previously a suspect in a sugar corruption case at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) during his tenure as President Director of PTPN III, for which he was sentenced to four years in prison and incarcerated at Sukamiskin Penitentiary.
