PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk. (WIKA) has reported that construction progress for the Judicial Complex Road in IKN, Indonesia’s new capital, has reached 19.35%.

This exceeds the planned 18.29%, marking a positive deviation of +1.6%. The project is scheduled for completion by 31 December 2027.

“Currently, project works are progressing in parallel across various segments. Activities underway include geotextile works, soil filling, Multi Utility Tunnel (MUT) structures, box culvert structures, bridge structures, rigid pavement, and drainage channel works,” said Corporate Secretary Ngatemin of WIKA.

He added that the progress reflects the company’s commitment to maintaining quality, productivity, and timely execution of on-site works.

WIKA has implemented several innovations and construction methods to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency. These include the use of Robotic Total Station and Drone Photogrammetry to accelerate construction data acquisition with high precision.

Additionally, the company applies Sliding Formwork for MUT works to improve construction efficiency. For structural work, a Cooling Pipe system is used in mass concrete pile cap casting to control temperature, reduce thermal cracking risks, and enhance structural quality.

The project also implements Load Scanner technology to digitally monitor material inflow and outflow, supporting accurate measurement, data transparency, and effective on-site material control.

Amid project dynamics, the main challenge currently faced is rising construction material costs due to global geopolitical conditions.

Ngatemin explained that the increase affects main materials, logistics, and subcontractor services. To anticipate this, WIKA continues to optimise planning, cost control, and execution efficiency to meet targets on schedule.

“Through this project, WIKA supports the realisation of reliable, integrated, and sustainable infrastructure development in the new capital,” he said.
