WIKA Reaches Agreement with Sukuk Bondholders
PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) has gained support from the Holders of Bonds and Sukuk in a series of General Meetings of Bondholders (RUPO) and General Meetings of Sukuk Holders (RUPSU). This support forms part of strategic steps for WIKA’s transformation and future recovery efforts. It should be noted that WIKA’s RUPO and RUPSU were held on 20-22 April 2026 and relate to Bond PUB I Phase I, PUB I Phase II, PUB II Phase I, PUB II Phase II and PUB III Phase I, as well as Sukuk PUB I Phase II. The RUPO and RUPSU were conducted with the main agenda of aligning provisions that previously impacted WIKA’s default status in the Bond Sukuk Agreement, related to adjustments to the coupon payment schedule, extension of the principal maturity, and non-fulfilment of financial ratio provisions in the Company’s financial statements as per the agreement. At the meeting, the bond and sukuk holders were present in quorum and approved all proposals submitted by WIKA. In addition, the bond and sukuk holders in quorum also approved adjustments to the penalty provisions in the agreement. WIKA’s President Director, Agung Budi Waskito, stated that the results of this RUPO and RUPSU represent an important momentum in strengthening the Company’s fundamentals. “The approval given demonstrates the trust of the bond and sukuk holders in the recovery steps we are taking. This becomes an important foundation for WIKA to maintain business continuity and strengthen the financial structure going forward,” he said in a written statement, quoted on Thursday (23/4/2026). With strong support from Danantara as the majority shareholder and all security holders, WIKA reaffirms its commitment to continue implementing recovery strategies in a disciplined manner, strengthening corporate governance, and maintaining stakeholder trust. Furthermore, WIKA is optimistic that these steps will serve as a strong foundation in driving performance recovery, ensuring sustainability, and increasing the Company’s contribution to national infrastructure development.
