Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting modern public transport development through the Extended Concourse Project at MRT Bundaran HI Station. This project forms part of efforts to increase service capacity and integrate public transport in central Jakarta, aligned with the development of MRT Jakarta Phase 2. The project, owned by PT Integrasi Transit Jakarta, started on 23 February 2026 and is targeted for completion on 18 June 2027, with a contract value of Rp148.2 billion. By the end of April 2026, project progress reached 4.06% of total work. Currently, implementation is focused on bore pile works in the Muara 1 area on the Grand Hyatt and Plaza Indonesia sides, with 11 piles completed out of 29 targeted. In addition to bore pile work, other major works underway include the slab concourse structure and ramp lift works as part of developing access and improving station service space. Corporate Secretary WIKA, Ngatemin, said the project demonstrates WIKA’s support for strengthening an integrated, comfortable, and sustainable public transport system in Jakarta. “WIKA remains committed to supporting the development of public transport infrastructure that provides direct benefits to mobility. Through the Extended Concourse Project at MRT Bundaran HI, WIKA hopes to contribute to increasing station capacity while delivering more comfortable access for MRT Jakarta users,” Ngatemin said. The extended concourse is expected to increase Bundaran HI MRT Station’s capacity, particularly with potential increases in users due to MRT Jakarta Phase 2 development. The development will also include new entry access to the station and additional tenant space to support user comfort and experience. Through this project, WIKA hopes to help raise public interest in using public transport and strengthen Bundaran HI’s connectivity as a major transport hub in Jakarta.
