WIKA Builds Central Medical Unit at Dr. Sardjito Hospital, Strengthening National Health Services

PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) is supporting the strengthening of national health services through the construction of the Central Medical Unit (CMU) building within the RSUP Dr. Sardjito complex in Yogyakarta. This project is part of efforts to enhance the capacity and quality of specialist medical services for the public. The CMU building is designed with 13 main floors and two basement levels. The facility will support specialist medical services, health workforce education, and research activities at RSUP Dr. Sardjito. WIKA Corporate Secretary Ngatemin stated that the construction of the CMU building represents WIKA’s contribution to delivering modern, safe, and sustainable health infrastructure. “The presence of the CMU building is expected to increase the capacity and quality of services at RSUP Dr. Sardjito, while also expanding public access to specialist health services,” Ngatemin said. Currently, construction progress has reached approximately 13 percent, involving 180 workers. Works underway include bored pile foundations, diaphragm walls, basement excavation, ground anchors, pile cap foundations, floor slabs, columns, and beams. The project, which commenced on 4 December 2025, is targeted for completion on 4 December 2027. WIKA’s scope of work covers preparation, construction safety, structure, architecture, interior, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP), area development, as well as the construction of specialist rooms such as a Modular Operating Theatre (MOT) and a stem cell room. As construction is taking place within an operational hospital environment, WIKA is implementing integrated construction management to maintain safety, work quality, and the continuity of hospital services. The development of the CMU building aligns with the fourth Asta Cita, particularly in strengthening human resource development through improved health services. Through this project, WIKA is committed to delivering health facilities that provide long-term benefits for patients, health workers, and the community.
