WIKA Accelerates Jakarta–Cikampek II South Toll Road Construction, Progress Reaches 85.20%
State-owned construction firm PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) is accelerating the development of the Jakarta–Cikampek II South Toll Road Package 2A as part of its commitment to supporting national connectivity. Construction progress has currently reached 85.20%, with completion targeted for the first quarter of 2027 for all areas where land acquisition has been finalised.
The Jakarta–Cikampek II South Toll Road Package 2A is a strategic infrastructure project that will strengthen connectivity between the Greater Jakarta area and West Java. The new route will serve as an alternative corridor, reducing dependency on the existing Jakarta–Cikampek toll road. This is expected to help ease traffic congestion and improve mobility for both the public and logistics distribution, particularly during peak hours and holiday seasons.
During the construction phase, the project has absorbed approximately 3,900 workers, thereby not only accelerating infrastructure development but also contributing to job creation and strengthening the local economy in surrounding areas.
To enhance construction effectiveness, WIKA is implementing various digital technologies, including Building Information Modelling (BIM) for planning, visualisation, coordination, and work control. The project also utilises drone technology through photogrammetry and LiDAR methods to obtain field data quickly and accurately. The integration of these technologies supports progress monitoring, minimises the potential for rework, and ensures that all work adheres to design, technical specifications, and established quality standards.
In line with the company’s operational transformation, the project also applies Lean Construction principles to increase productivity and execution efficiency through integrated planning, more effective process control, and resource optimisation. This approach helps minimise waste, reduce the potential for rework, and drive project completion to the required quality, time, and cost standards.
Furthermore, WIKA prioritises the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles at every stage of construction. This is realised through the application of occupational health and safety aspects, responsible environmental management, and the creation of social value by absorbing local workers and building infrastructure that provides sustainable benefits for the community.
