WIKA Accelerates Construction of Brebes People's School, Supporting Government's Asta Cita
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA), together with the Ministry of Public Works, continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting educational infrastructure development through the Sekolah Rakyat project in Brebes, as a tangible contribution to the national development agenda and the government’s Asta Cita priorities.
As of 3 May 2026, the physical progress of the construction has reached 7.44%, with the main focus on structural work at 8.37% and site work at 1.36%. This achievement indicates a positive trend, where the deviation from the cumulative plan (S-curve) continues to improve compared to the previous week, reflecting the effectiveness of acceleration measures on site.
This project represents the synergy between state-owned enterprises and the government in strengthening the quality of Indonesia’s human resources through the provision of equitable and high-quality educational access, in line with the Asta Cita priorities in developing superior human capital.
To maintain the acceleration momentum, PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk is optimising various construction strategies, including the application of innovative methods using steel structures and Hollow Core Slab (HCS) floor plates to enhance implementation time efficiency.
In addition, resource support is continuously strengthened through the addition of lifting equipment, heavy machinery, and an increase in workforce capacity. At its peak, the number of workers reaches 1,400 people with the implementation of two work shifts to optimise execution time. These efforts are balanced with more optimal working hour arrangements to ensure each stage of work progresses faster and is well-coordinated.
The President Director of PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk, Agung Budi Waskito, stated that the continuously improving progress is the result of strong synergy between the government and state-owned enterprises, as well as the innovations applied in project implementation.
“WIKA continues to drive construction acceleration through work method optimisation and resource strengthening. This project is not only about physical construction but also part of collective efforts to support the government’s strategic agenda in enhancing national education quality,” said Agung Budi Waskito.
With various integrated acceleration efforts, the construction of Sekolah Rakyat Brebes is expected to be completed on target and soon utilised as a facility to improve education quality and human resource development in Indonesia.
