Wihaji: Golkar’s 2029 Victory Won’t Fall from the Sky; It Will Take Hard Work
Bandung – As part of its strategic efforts to gear up for the 2029 General Election, the Golkar Party’s Central Executive Board held a Technical Coordination Meeting on Election Victory at the Pullman Hotel in Bandung on 10 October 2026. The event was an important opportunity for the party, whose symbol is a banyan tree, to close ranks in strategic regions.
The meeting focused on the theme “Golkar Party Policy Direction and Strategic Plan for the 2029 Election” and was led by Wihaji, Deputy Chair for Election Victory in the Java-Kalimantan region.
Wihaji’s presence gave the meeting added impetus and strategic weight, as he also serves as Minister of Population and Family Development in President Prabowo Subianto’s Cabinet.
The strategic gathering was not merely a forum for developing ideas, but also brought together the party’s forces. It was attended by 96 participants: 25 representatives of Golkar’s House of Representatives faction, 21 regional heads, 49 representatives of provincial Golkar boards, and one head of the party’s central National Witness Agency (BSNPG).
The presence of legislative and regional executive figures, alongside party organisations, underscored Golkar’s determination to build coordination across all levels.
In his address, Wihaji set out firm instructions on the party’s election strategy, which he said all participants must put into action promptly.
“We have no time to relax. Golkar’s victory in 2029 will not fall from the sky; it will be built through our sweat and hard work today. That is why consolidation must be carried out at every level, on a large scale and continuously,” Wihaji said.
He added that the work of party structures and figures in both the legislative and executive branches must reach the heart of communities at the grassroots, in line with a vision of building strength from families and local communities. He instructed all party ranks to get out into the field and ensure that a solid campaign network is established.
“I want all cadres to engage directly with people at the grassroots. Consolidation must not stop at regency or district level; it must extend to villages and urban wards, neighbourhood associations (RW) and neighbourhood units (RT). This network is our front line in winning people’s support,” he added.
To ensure the instructions are implemented effectively and measured, Golkar’s Central Executive Board set a tight deadline for all levels of the organisation. Wihaji said consolidation and restructuring of grassroots networks across Java and Kalimantan must be fully completed by the end of 2026.
The Bandung meeting marked Golkar’s readiness to face the coming political contest, bringing all its strengths together in pursuit of victory in the 2029 General Election.
