WIFI Redirects Rp 5.9 Trillion to People's Internet Project, Targets 5 Million Customers
JAKARTA - PT Solusi Sinergi Digital Tbk has approved changes to the use of proceeds from the Rights Issue. The decision was made at the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders on 8 April 2026. The entire Rp 5.9 trillion in funds has been allocated to the development of the Internet Rakyat project. This programme focuses on expanding access to fast internet at affordable prices. The project targets communities that are unserved and underserved. Access to the internet in this segment is still considered limited. The company targets the construction of 5,500 network points throughout 2026. The service coverage is projected to reach 5 million customers by the end of the year. “IRA or Internet Rakyat is designed to bring high-speed, reliable, and affordable internet on a large scale, ready for widespread commercialisation through a scalable and efficient model,” stated the company in a press release on Friday (10/4/2026). The shareholder approval is seen as strengthening the company’s position. Network expansion will be accelerated to reach more households. The initial focus is directed to Region-1, covering Java, Maluku, and Papua. This area was chosen because it is considered to have a significant social and economic impact. Service trials were also conducted during the meeting. Shareholders directly tested the Internet Rakyat network. Download speeds were recorded in the range of 200 Mbps to over 300 Mbps. These results demonstrate the network’s readiness for broader implementation.
